Description

• The NDA is a premier military academy in India that trains cadets for the Army, Navy, and Air Force. It is located in Khadakwasla , Pune. The UPSC is the central recruiting agency for the NDA exam. It conducts the NDA examination and other civil service exams in India. The NDA exam is a national level examination held twice a year to select candidates for the NDA. It consists of a written test followed by an interview.
• Written Examination

• Description: The written part of the NDA exam tests candidates on Mathematics and General Ability. The exam includes:
  • Mathematics: Questions on algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, etc.
  • General Ability Test (GAT): Includes sections on English, General Knowledge (GK), and Current Affairs.

 SSB Interview (Services Selection Board)

• Description: After clearing the written exam, candidates are called for the SSB interview, which assesses their personality, intelligence, and suitability for a career in the armed forces through various tests, including:
  • Psychological Tests: Assess mental and emotional stability.
  • Group Tasks: Evaluate teamwork, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Personal Interview: A one-on-one interview to gauge individual qualities and motivation.

Eligibility Criteria

• Age Limit: Candidates typically must be between 16.5 and 19.5 years old.
• Educational Qualification: Candidates should be 12th-grade pass or appearing students. For Navy and Air Force, a background in Physics and Mathematics is required.

Exam Pattern

• Mathematics: 300 marks, 2.5 hours duration.
• General Ability Test: 600 marks, 2.5 hours duration.
• Total Marks: 900 marks for the written exam.
• SSB Interview: 900 marks, making a total of 1800 marks.

• Description: The minimum score required to qualify the written exam and move on to the SSB interview. Cutoff marks vary each year based on the difficulty of the exam and number of candidates.

NDA Syllabus

• Mathematics Syllabus: Includes topics like Algebra, Matrices, Trigonometry, Calculus, Probability, etc.
• General Ability Test Syllabus: Covers English grammar, comprehension, vocabulary, General Knowledge (History, Geography, Civics, etc.), and Current Affairs.

Admit Card

• Description: The admit card is issued to candidates who have successfully applied for the exam. It contains information about the exam date, time, and venue.

Result Declaration

• Description: After the exams and SSB interviews, results are declared on the UPSC website. Candidates are selected based on their performance in the written exam and interview.

Merit List

• Description: A list of candidates who have qualified both the written exam and the SSB interview. It is prepared based on the total marks obtained.

Training at NDA

• Description: Once selected, candidates undergo a three-year training program at NDA, which includes academic education and military training. After successful completion, they are commissioned into their respective services.

Post-NDA Training

• Description: After graduating from NDA, cadets undergo further specialized training at various service academies such as the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Naval Academy, and Air Force Academy.
